Crime Prevention Publications

Periodically the Round Lake Park Police Department hosts Coffee With a Cop.  This is an opportunity to meet with Officers in an informal environment while enjoying a free cup of coffee.  During past events, some topics that have been discussed range from identity theft, to basic crime prevention techniques, and everything in between.  The Police Officers of Round Lake Park look forward to continuing this program and future dates will be posted on the COMMUNITY CALENDAR

Crime Prevention is the anticipation, recognition, and appraisal of a crime risk and the initiation of action to remove or reduce that risk.

The Round Lake Park Police Department works proactively with Round Lake Park citizens to decrease crime and increase community awareness through education. We have education for business, residential, and rental communities as each area faces issues specific to their needs. The information below is crime prevention education based topics.

For the past several years the Officers and Staff of the Round Lake Park Police Department have been giving less fortunate children from the Round Lake Area a cheerful and joyous Christmas where they might not have had one otherwise, by giving them a night to remember.  Through the generous monetary donations from residents and businesses in the Round Lake Area, as well as countless hours of volunteer work, hundreds of children have been taken on shopping sprees for Christmas presents.  For nearly two decades, this program has been a part of the community, and is a program that exemplifies the Round Lake Park Police Department’s dedication to the youngest members of our community.  Donations are always accepted at the Round Lake Park Police Department.

The Round Lake Park Police Department launched a pill collection and disposal program in June of 2014 sponsored by Save a Star Drug Awareness Foundation. The purpose of this program is to collect and safely dispose of unwanted and unused medications, thus keeping them out of the public water systems and out of the hands of individuals who might otherwise become victims of prescription drug abuse. The pill collection unit is located in the Round Lake Park Police Department lobby and drop-offs are accepted 24 hours a day........Read More
