The Village Clerk’s Office is the elected official who is the keeper of the records for the Village which includes but is not limited to intergovernmental agreements, Village project files, ordinances, resolutions, minutes of Board meetings and all other legal documentation in regards to the actions of the Village of Round Lake Park. Records retention, storage, and destruction are functions of the Village Clerk. The Clerk is also appointed as the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) and Open Meetings Act (OMA) officer for the Village.

The Village of Round Lake Park Municipal Code is a classified compilation of the general and permanent ordinances of the Village of Round Lake Park.  Every effort is made to ensure the accuracy of the content of the Municipal Code contained on the online version.  However, the Code changes from time to time due to the adoption, deletion and/or alteration of ordinances by the Village Board. A copy of the village codebook is also available for public inspection at the Village Hall.

Freedom of Information Act (FOIA)

The Village of Round Lake Park is committed to following the requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990. Pursuant of that act, the Village has established the following Grievance Procedure. Download Procedure


This Grievance Procedure is established to meet the requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (“ADA”). It may be used by anyone who wishes to file a complaint alleging discrimination on the basis of disability in the provision of services, activities, programs, or benefits by the Village of Round Lake Park. The Village of Round Lake Park Personnel Policy governs employment-related complaints of disability discrimination.

Complaints must be in writing and contain information about the alleged discrimination such as name, address, phone number of complainant, locations, date, and description of the problem. Alternative means for filing complaints, such as personal interviews or a tape recording of the complaint will be made available for persons with disabilities upon request. 

Complaints should be submitted as soon as possible, but no later than 60 calendar days after the alleged violation, to:

Per Public Act 97-0609, effective January 1, 2012, an amendment to the Open Meetings Act requires an IMRF employer to post information regarding employee compensation.

Within six business days of approving the annual budget, an IMRF employer must post the total compensation package for each employee receiving a total compensation package that exceeds $75,000. At least six days prior to an IMRF employer approving an employee’s total compensation package that is equal to or in excess of $150,000 per year, the employer must post the total compensation package for that employee. For this statute, “total compensation package” and therefore the amount listed 
includes: salary, employer-paid health insurance premiums, housing allowance, vehicle allowance, clothing allowance, bonuses, loans, vacation days granted, and sick days granted

For the fiscal year ending April 30, 2017, the Village of Round Lake Park does not have any employees with a total compensation package that is equal to or in excess of $150,000.         

The Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) is a State law (5 ILCS 140/1-140/11) that provides a method for the public to gain access to government records. Any person who wishes to inspect and/or obtain copies of public records from the Village of Round Lake Park shall follow the rules in accordance with the Illinois Freedom of Information Act.
