For your convenience, Freedom of Information Request Forms are available to you for requesting records from Village Hall and the Police and Public Works Departments. It would be helpful (but not required) for you to complete a FOIA Request form for Village Hall (Download Form) specific to those departments stating the specific type of records requested, including address and dates/time frame, if applicable.

​​​Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) Inspection of Public Records Procedures  

Each request will be complied with or denied within 5 working days after its receipt. The 5 working day time limit may be extended to include an additional 5 working days in some cases. Each request for a commercial purpose will be complied with or denied within 21 days after its receipt. Records will be made available, unless the records are specifically exempt under the Freedom of Information Act. Accordingly, if your request is for a commercial purpose, please indicate that it is for a commercial purpose as required under the Act.

The Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) is a state statute (5 ILCS 140/1-140/11) that provides for a straight-forward, easy-to-use method for the public to gain access to government records. Any person who wishes to inspect and/or obtain copies of public records from the Village of Round Lake Park shall follow the rules below, in accordance with the Illinois Freedom of Information Act.

Fees for any such records, if the person requesting the records wished them to be copied, are as follows:

  • First 50 pages, black and white, letter or legal size copies, no cost.
  • Additional pages, black and white, letter or legal, $0.15.
  • Electronic records will be formatted subject to reimbursement for costs of recording medium.
  • Color copies or copies in a size other than letter or legal shall be reimbursed to actual costs.
  • Costs of certifying a record will be $1.00.
