Water bills are issued on a bimonthly basis (every two months) for the prior two month's usage starting in January. The water bills are due on the 5th day of the due month, and water shut off day is the third Monday of the due month. Bills not paid by 8AM on shut off day will be assessed an additional $50, and water serviced will be terminated. In the event that water services are terminated at a property with no water deposit on file, a $200 water deposit will be due prior to water services being reinstated.

In the event that we could not accurately read your water meter, we will estimate your water bill. In these instances, your bill will have an EST where there would normally be a number under consumption. If your bill is estimated, please contact the Village Hall immediately to set up an appointment to have the problem assessed & repaired.

If there is a problem with your water bill, please do not wait until the bill is due to question it, call the Village Hall immediately.

Residential  Water

It is important to understand that without practicing water conservation, a family of four can easily use as much as 500 gallons of water per day. That is 15,000 gallons of water per month! Remember that water conservation will reduce your water & sewer bill!

Every time you:

  • Take a bath, you use approximately 40 gallons of water
  • Flush the toilet, you use approximately 5-7 gallons of water
  • Wash a load of dishes in the dish washer, you use approximately 16 gallons of water
  • Wash a load of clothes, you use approximately 45-60 gallons of water
  • Water the lawn, you use approximately 10-15 gallons of water per minute (600-900 gallons per hour)

Some tips to consider:

  • Keep a jug of water in the refrigerator rather than running water until it's cold
  • Time your showers; install a low-flow shower head, or a flow controller in your present shower head
  • Don't leave water running while shaving, brushing teeth, washing dishes by hand, or scrubbing vegetables
  • Make sure your loads of laundry and dishes are full, and run shorter cycles
  • Fill the bath tub only about half way
  • Don't flush the toilet except to dispose of body waste
  • Be sure all faucets are turn off completely
